Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 review

     Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is an entertaining shooter game for the Xbox 360 counsel and it is rated M for mature. A significant sequel to the previous modern warfare games, Modern Warfare 3 carries the epic storyline throughout the series leading up to the tremendous battle between the nations. Since the game is obviously all about warfare, you need to play as soldiers from different areas that all have one objective: defeat the bas**rd named Makarov of Russia. In order to achieve the objective, you must dodge bullets and sneak through enemy lines to defend the objective.  

Storyline

      Since Modern Warfare 3 is a part of the Call of Duty sequels, the storyline only contains events that occurred in this game. The main antagonist of the game is Makarov and he is basically a threat to the world. He creates a plan to kidnap the president of Russia and his daughter and wages total war by contaminating Europe with poisonous gas. Britain and the United States respond by sending troops to save the Russian president and his daughter while defending Europe from the Russian army. The two western countries get help from three former Russian soldiers who share the same objective to kill Makarov whose names are Price, Yuri and Soap. As the war against Russia continues; lives will be lost, sacrifices will be made, and surprising secrets will be revealed in Call of Duty/ Modern Warfare 3.  

Game Play     

When you play COD: MW3, you will start to get use to the complex controls on your control stick.  The LS allows your soldier to move and the RS stick is used to knife enemies that are closer to you. The LT lets you aim your weapon and the RT fires your gun, pistol, shotgun and other weapons. The LB is to throw grenades and the RB throws flash bangs (Just be careful where you throw your flash bangs and grenades). The Y button changes your weapons and the B button controls your soldier to stand upright, kneel and crouch down on the ground. The A button is for jumping and the X button reloads your weapon. The difficulty of the game ranges from beginner to expert. If you are playing this game for the first time, I highly recommend that you start on recruit (beginner mode). Unless you are really confident, you can play the game on veteran mode (expert mode). WARNING: Tons of bullets will be flying past you and you can die in an instant. So you better find a safe place where you can take down your enemies and protect yourself at the same time. When you are in a war torn area and have no idea where to go, the game has a pointer hovering above an ally that signals you to fallow them wherever their going.

Sound Effects/Soundtrack

The sound effects in this game are spectacular because the game contains sounds that you would expect to hear at a war. Fighter jets are flying by cities, soldiers are shouting everywhere, bombs are exploding, and of course, guns being fired. The graphics are as realistic as they get and there are a few glitches in the game. The soundtrack in the game does not contain any popular genres; however, the music builds up the suspension within the game as the storyline continues.

Other Installments

If you want to play this game with a bunch of friends, Modern Warfare 3 allows you to play co-op missions with a friend. If you have Xbox live, you can play different types of multiplayer games with other gamers all around the globe. Some multiplayer games consist of two teams and some requires players to trust nobody and defend themselves. When you are playing a team match, you will acquire more weapons when you get more kills. The biggest and most powerful weapon is the M.O.A.B (Mother of All Bombs). When activated, the M.O.A.B will wipe out the entire opposing team within seconds; a great advantage to anybody using it.  The best part of the multiplayer games is that the game replays you’re “final kill” against the enemy. It gives you a sense of pride in knowing that you’ve helped your team or yourself achieve victory.

Overall Perspective

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is an excellent game for anybody who loves shooting games. It is fun for friends who want to have good time and enjoy challenging other players online. The storyline was well developed and the game play is fantastic. The sound effects are awesome and the multiplayer games will have you playing this game for hours. Whenever you’re by yourself or with friends, you will enjoy playing this game. Also, it will highly motivate you to get even because you’re character will certainly get killed a bunch of times if you’re not careful. As the old saying goes; practice makes perfect. This game gets an overall 10/10.
